Artist Bio

Amelia Butcher is a New Zealand-based dancer and aspiring choreographer. Butcher has trained in a diverse range of styles including Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Ballet for over 16 years. She was previously a competitive gymnast giving her advanced training in acrobatics. Amelia is a versatile dancer with an undeniable ability to perform. She currently holds a Diploma in Commercial Dance while enhancing her already existing talent by training towards a Bachelor in Creativity at Te Auaha Institute of Creativity. She is committed and diligent, making her a valuable member of any team. Amelia’s unique artistry and love of performing is evident in her performance, which is impossible to miss.

Butcher's performance experience includes her performances in the Fringe Festival. She performed as a dancer in both Lift Off and Clone Like in their 2022 season. She also performed in collaboration with Footnote Dance Company for Cuba Dupa. For her choreography, it was her 2019 winning Showquest piece that made her understand her passion for creating dance.
